Saturday Update

Today is scooter's 13 month birthday. I think we'll celebrate it Walmart, I'll get her a daycare sippy cup hehe

Feb is officially over! I overspent by $182. BUT I didn't get an oil change, take the cats to the vet or buy contacts like how it was budgeted. I blew that money on other stuff so really I was $422 off.

So how on earth do you get $422 off your budget? Well it wasn't that hard!

I bought shoes. 5 pairs of shoes. To be fair, I wear shoes until they are worn out and I had 1 pair of tennis shoes which I could wear to work but I wanted a little more. Now did I need 5 pairs? Nope, I could of stopped at the two I got at the mall but I got shoe fever late at night and got online and ordered 3 more pairs, that is something hard to over come! lol

I also spent an extra $75 on scooters birthday. Because I got sick there was some last minutes expenses (food) that I got so I wouldn't have to cook. The old birthday food (was pulled pork) is in the freezer waiting to be cooked, so it's sort of like I stocked my freezer last month. I also went over $105 on groceries because of the original party food. Little stuff really added up, I had no idea how much birthdays cost!

So add in $50-60 of extra baby clothes to all of that and boom! $422 of overages.

So let's talk about March. March is the first month where the expenses are spread across the board. I've counted the last few days into my March budget 1) because Feb was crazy and I don't want to add to it lol and 2) because we are using this stuff in March, only seems fair. Seeing all those savings account deposits to ING fly out of my regular account was a little scary! Because I don't write check and use my CC for everything, I like to see more black (deposits) than red (deductions). It was red everywhere! Oh the carnage!!

So yesterday I went out with my best friend Chelle. We went to Target and I returned $42.67 of stuff and took it off my Feb budget (see it was even worse lol). I bought a pair of baby jeans, a pair of baby shorts (going back they give her a wedgie) and a pack of razor blades. Total spent minus shorts - $18.69. One entry to the baby loot column and the other goes into misc.

I think that once I am back at work, my spending will be really limited because I won't be going on the "I'm bored, let's pack up the baby and go shop" expeditions. My biggest temptation will be going out for lunch. But Chelle is applying for a management training job at another company, normally since we work together we are our worst enemies (Chinese? yes! Chinese sounds so good, let's go at 11:30!). I'll miss her big time but I'll save like a grand a year. No wait, it is more than a grand, at one point I had it figured out. It's more than a 14 day cruise, I can tell you that.

Ok I think that is it for now. I'll post pictures later :)

This was my first visit to your blog. I enjoyed myself. You have such a fun and entertaining way of writing. You can even make a $400 overage sound good. Birthday months always throw the budget off. Good luck with getting back on track. I will definitely be back to read more posts.
